Fly
I wish I could fly... Often I dream of flying in a cloudless sky, and in a way, that is what has produced this ACEO, 'Fly'. Imagine what it must be like to float like those birds, soaring on a thermal, seeing the world from a different perspective... Whoever coined the expression, 'free as a bird', knew what they were talking about!
If you want to Fly, it is available for sale here, along with a wide selection of my aceo work.

Bird's Nest - Needle Felted ACEO
(C) M Pruitt 2008
This new ACEO is created with wool roving with the technique of needle felting. The needle felting Street Team (NFEST) had a theme of "birds" this month so I created a tree branch, cradling a nest with blue Robins eggs. It's 100% needle felted.

AKJapan - MEGALITHS
I have used pen and ink with watercolour on heavyweight unbleached washi. I really like megalithic landscapes and I have made many images of these standing stones or sculptures since I visited the Nine Standards in Cumbria UK in 1999.
Have a good week everyone!
regards
Andrea

Spring is Coming
Spring is coming!! Even though it is still snowing outside, I'm so ready for Spring!!
I had to try a flower on metal.... embossed it, painted it with alcohol inks, acrylics and rub-n-buff patina. It was really fun and I'm pretty happy with this ACEO.
Clicking on the picture will take you to the listing so you can see other pictures of the ACEO if you're interested. It's full of texture and really fun to touch.

Back to making ACEOs!
Last week I told myself that I was going to make some ACEOs for the first time in awhile. And that they were going to be mixed media. Started with a bit of paper cutting, then some glue finished with various methods of printmaking.
And here are my results. More coming but with a six month old everything is coming in bits and pieces instead of the rush of new work that would happen like clockwork every two weeks before I had her.
I hope you enjoy them!
Hello!
This is my most recently listed ACEO. It was created for Illustration Friday's Theory theme a few weeks back. The design features vintage ledger paper, scrapbook papers, a photo from my own collection and - my favorite part! - beeswax!
I work mostly in mixed media/collage, but I also enjoy doodling and now Gocco printing! I like to trade ATCs so please let me know if you are interested in a trade.
For 2008, I am making one ATC each day as a way of marking time while my husband (a Marine) is away. I'm not trading those as of yet (I want to see what they look like when I have 365 of them!) but you can see all of them here.
Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing your work.

Mended Heart
Hey all!
This is my newest: "Mended Heart". I have to admit I'm proud. I feel like it has soul and that makes me proud. I used burlap (my secret favorite material) and paper and cloth scraps.
Feel free to check it out and my other ACEOS (I'm up to several-teen!) at gingerlime.etsy.com.

What's For Dinner?
Hi! This is my first post, and I'm very excited to be joining the group! I've been painting ACEOs for a couple of years. My favorite media is watercolor. My favorite subject is cats, but I also paint dragons and other fantasy critters, fantasy landscapes, and the occasional still life. Here is one of several ACEOs currently posted in my Etsy shop, http://allisonstein.etsy.com/ :
"What's For Dinner?" by Allison Stein ACEO (2.5"x3.5") original watercolor painting on 140# Arches watercolor paper. Available from http://allisonstein.etsy.com/ .
I also have an art blog, http://allisonstein.blogspot.com/, where I sometimes post works in progress and sneak previews of what I plan to offer on Etsy.
Thanks for letting me join. This is such great company to be in!

So happy to have found you!
I am honored to be invited to post on this blog! Here are two samples of my various styles of ACEOs. I painted the top one this morning! She is done in watercolor and ink, and is called "She Sees You". I have been doing a series of triangulated faces I call "Shards of Remembrance". This one I may also paint in a larger format. The second ACEO is called "Strings" and is part of my music-themed series. It is done in inks. Many more can be seen in my shop www.lerayjessdesigns.etsy.com . I also blog about my process of making ACEOs (and my growing addiction!) on http://aceomarket.blogspot.com. I feature my fellow etsy artists there too - are you featured yet? Come visit and see!
