Working In Series

I like working in series, taking an idea and making several different ACEOs on that theme. My newest series is called Blue Stripe, and each card has a blue stripe (surprise surprise) somewhere in its design. The pieces are made using both watercolour paper and a layer of lutradur, which is a non woven, semi transparent polyester fabric, so that the blue stripe underneath shines through the hand dyed lutradur designs. I love working with lutradur!

The images are of the first three in this new series, and can be found here

An ACEO for Canada.

This is an ACEO that I made while thinking of my artist friends who live in Canada. I collected many stamps from them, this is just ONE of the collage works that I made with the stamps collected. It is 2.5" X 3.5" and is signed and dated on the back. It's for sale in my etsy store at http://www.paintingwpassion.etsy.com/

New ACEO Print

I made some prints from a digital remastered piece of artwork I hand drew and painted with acrylics, looks like a Chinese Temple Dog to me. My shop is http://www.debidesigns.etsy.com

All GIrl Band ACEO Series

I have totally fallen in love with the process of creating ACEOs.  I have to admit that I'm still "finding my legs".  My All Girl Band Series is a part of  the process.  I've been seeking my creative center by remembering my heart ~ my old dreams and ways I used to play.  I used scraps of decorative paper, very intentionally sculpted polymer clay, and extra stuff to compose these.  I did them separately, but then they suddenly reminded me of "The Pretenders" (the singing group) and memories of my dreams to be a rocker chick came flooding back.  The first in this row is listed in my shop, gingerlime.etsy.com and the rest will be listed over time.  Have fun ACEOers and rock on!

Embossed Copper

I had a lot of fun with this ACEO. I heated the copper after embossing it to give the surface different tones. I then added a layer of black acrylics over the ACEO and rubbed it off to highlight the peaks and valleys. It is full of texture and it is a lot of fun to touch.

Clicking on the image will take you to the listing on Etsy and you can see additional pictures including one of a side view so you can tell how much texture there is. I hope you like it.

Head for the Lettuce!

So, what did one bunny say to the other bunny, while they were both sitting on a fine mess of ripe cucumbers?
"Head for the Lettuce"
of course!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I loved painting it.

Kissing Gourmies???

Ever seen a fish kissing another fish?

They really exsist! They're called "Kissing Gourmies" and they are pink fish with big lips. You have to have 2 in your tank and they go up to each other and really kiss!

This was my inspiration for this ACEO "Kissing Gourmies". It's created with Prismacolor Pen, india ink and watercolor. I also used a Duochrome watercolor over the top to create a shimmering water effect!

New ACEO, A Collaborative Project & A Giveaway

I finally made a new ACEO recently. It is the first a in series called the Bubble Tree. I received a lot of feedback from my Flickr friends on color combinations, and I will be incorporating their suggestions into the series. This led me to start a similar project on my blog. I am looking to collaborate with my readers to create an ACEO. I will add anyone who contributes with a comment into a drawing for the finished ACEO. I am currently looking for suggestions about the theme or main subject of the ACEO. So stop by my blog, share your 2 cents with a comment and be entered to win an OOAK ACEO!

Etsy Cleveland Street Team: Think Spring

On the run....

This little bird is on the run... ;)

Spring!!!

Greetings! I am new to our street team, but I've been selling ACEO's on Etsy for a while now!

Though, winter is not quite past - it's spring in my heart so I have many spring themed ACEO's for sale in my shop!

"Daffodils" (above) is a needle felted ACEO. These are becoming very popular and I'm having a hard time keeping my store stocked with them (this one just sold)

But I also really enjoy painting with watercolor. I hope you'll come by and visit my shop and look around! The Creators Palette

Metal ACEO

This is my newest ACEO (just listed on Etsy). It was created by embossing the leaf and designs on metal tape, then colored with alcohol inks, acrylics, and rub-ons. It has lots of texture!

"School"

I loved the colors that resulted in this aceo. I used a brayer to apply the inks to the background which gave me a great texture.

Hello everyone!

I'm newish to ETSY, and have just joined this group, but I'm not new to ACEO. My name is Eliza - anyone here from the eBay group? I've left eBay now, in favour of ETSY and a couple of other places (IOffer and OLA).

I don't have any ACEO on ETSY just now, I have one up at OLA. Mostly I do oil paintings and scratchboard - but I've been known to use any medium that is at hand.

I've got larger art on ETSY, but I'm thinking that maybe I'll offer some prints.

You know about the website for ACEO - www.art-cards.org? I'm always looking for demos and articles, product reviews and the like. If you would like to write one up you get links back to your home page and wherever you like, ETSY or ebay (blah) or anywhere.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all :)

Perfect Harmony

I usually do not like to create with birds, I am not sure why...But I was excited today because I remembered that I had these vintage flash/playing cards with birds and animals. So I used this sparrow card and added a little cutie who is learning for fly. You will notice she has no wings yet...lol. As you see she does have someone special close by also.

Cherished Lady & More....

My cards have been pretty diverse this week. Just painted & created whatever came out.

~ Here are a few~

~Cherished Lady~

~Acrylic paint & sealed with a matte sealer~
I used a toothpick to get tiny even dots for the border and I use the flat end of a bamboo skewer to give me even pupils in eyes and as ringlets in her hair.

I am so happy with this swanky version of Lady Liberty, I may have to keep her!

But why is it the pictures never look as good as in person?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Pink Polka Dot Daisy~

~Mixed Media of collaged papers, paint, mica, rhinestones & wooden finial plug~
The paper flower is from Ohcrop16 and I painted the edges to give it some detail.
I have been using UHU glue to apply my embellishments. It dries super clear and smooth as well as strong. I used it to hold the mica in place, which is great b/c it does not show up at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Shattered~

~Mixed Media of collaged papers, stamps, paint, ink & broken mercury glass~

These wings I just picked up from Pacokeco. The only thing different about this piece is the mercury glass. I broke one of my ornaments during the holidays and I refuse to let it go to waste!

~Thanx~
