Fireworks ACEO for ACEO Blog Challenge

 I created this ACEO for this month's ACEO Blog Challenge.  The subject was Fireworks!

 

Fireworks is an original ACEO created with acrylic paint & dimentional paint on 140 lb. watercolor paper. My inspiration was the many exciting fireworks displays that I have witnessed. The primary colors are green, copper, silver & blue. The ACEO measures the standard size of 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". It is titled, "Timeless Love".

The ACEO will come signed, titled & dated on the back. Because of the dimensional nature of this piece, it will come protected between cardboard. All of my ACEOs are originals.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I am really trying to clean up anything 'unfinished' from 2010 and thought I should at least post a few of the most recent ACEO's I did in 2010. December was CRAZY for me (as I am sure it has been for many!!) so the one way I could make sure to always create was to carry my little kit with blank ACEO cards and my Micron ink pen...ready to use at any down-time away from my studio. Let's just say there was A LOT of pen-and-ink work in December! Not a bad thing though. I really love pen work and I love ACEO's, so it was a successful month, too.

Trying to get into the holiday spirit....

Okay, I know it is a little early, but I had a request to do some holiday-themed ACEOs for a local show, so I am trying to get into the spirit.

Mixed Media Bird & Bird's Nest

This ACEO of a bird watching her nest of eggs is aptly called, "Keeping a Watchful Eye". It is a mixed media piece & includes an acrylic painted background on 140 lb. watercolor paper. The bird, branches & leaves are paper. The nest is fabric which has been painted & embroidered with different colors of thread. The eggs are different shades of blue & ivory seed beads that are securely embroidered onto the fabric.

The ACEO will come signed, titled & dated on the back. It will arrive between cardboard to protect it. All of my ACEOs are originals.
