New ACEO - Pear in Blue Bowl

I have been working on a series of pears in the 6x4 inch OSWOA size. I guess I still have pears on the brain because I had to do just one more:

I've decided to do a series of color studies playing with the colors of and subjects related to Fall. I got some mini gourds and pumpkins this last week to get me started.
Here is the first one:

Approaching Autumn

I keep seeing fallen leaves on my front walk, reminding me that Autumn is on its way! Fall is my favorite time of year - I can't wait for the golden light and the cooler nights, crisp air, smell of leaves and beautiful foliage. Here is my third ACEO with a fall theme, inspired by the leaves on my walk:

Thinking Fall

The coolness of the last few days have me thinking about fall! Autumn in New England is my favorite time of year. I couldn't resist painting an ACEO with an autumn theme:

Black-Eyed Susan

Back from a two week camping trip...sure am happy to be back to electricity and flush toilets!

Anyways, I made a few ACEOs while I was gone. There were lots of wild flowers in the woods and black-eyed susans are one of my favorites. Here is the first ACEO from my trip:

#1 Impressionism; 31 days of Rhinos

March is going to be fun! Today, I invite you begin a journey with me into the history of art, as seen through the eyes of Smelly Rhino Studio.

Each day in March on my blog, I will post a new painting using a specific technique or style and giving a brief history of that style.

Not all the paintings will be ACEOs, so I will only post here the ones which are!

If you want to have some fun seeing Rhinos represent art in history, visit 31 days of Rhinos on my blog today!

Fondly,
Rebecca

A Flurry of ACEO Activity

There has been a lot of stir in the ACEO community the last couple of days. bellsakabin has started the ACEO Bounty Challenge with over 60 participants and a grand prize at the end of the challenge all of the ACEOs listed in the Bounty Challenge that haven't sold during the length of the challenge. Early today that amount totaled over $400.00 with new entries being added constantly. Certainly a worthy prize. Here is the link to the thread giving the details. http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=5566696

I know that some of the Acetsy Team members (I am one) are participating. One of the challenges was create a bright colored bird and here is my entry for that challenge.

In addition to the challenge thread there are a number of treasuries featuring ACEOs at the moment. I am including the links for the ones I've found and I hope you will take a moment and check them out. Let's all click and comment and get them moving towards the front of the lists.

Now every member of Acetsy has the opportunity to promote this challenge and these treasuries to everyone that they know are interested in ACEOs. Buyers can propose a challenge to have their favorite kind of ACEO created with no real obligation to buy, artists have the opportunity to be challenged with suggestions, inspired by other works of art and supportive of each other by just commenting on the treasuries and the thread.

Let us all make this a wonderful ACEO month.

"Blue Birds and Poppies" by Dana Marie

Greetings Everyone!

This is my first post here for ACETSY

"Blue Bird and Poppies"~ ACEO
2.5" X 3.5"(2 1/2 in X 3 1/2in)

Standard Trading Card Size

These are wonderful affordable collectables!

A trading card folder/book filled with ACEOs makes a great coffee table book!Or they can be matted and framed for beautiful miniature art! I personally would like to collect enough to cover a coffee table and then purchase a fitted glass to play on top.

This original collectable bird ACEO/ mini painting is created with professional acrylic on an acid free Strathmore 246 lb weight and sealed with a light coat of clear acrylic protective gloss.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating this piece!

"Blue Bird and Poppies" is SOLD, however, I have more original acrylic aceo paintings in My Esty Shop.

Thank you for your interest!
