CHUBBY SOME BUNNY LOVES YOU!

"Some Bunny Love You"

Hi I just wanted to share something new with you!
I have never really put any effort forth in formal training, in the art of sketching. Although my desire to learn is truly strong!
My hubby thinks you should learn everything on your own.
No Books no Classes so on...I must admit thus far, the thought on digital art "I have been successful"! I love to draw and even though I could use a course or two.lol I will continue to learn on my own. So I present a new kind of art today to you all!

This is my first collaboration of a sketch mixed with digital art!

I hope you like my newest creation.

Skinny Some Bunny Loves You

New Years Resolutions all around the world!
I am thinking about doing a Raggedy Ann sketch next!
Who knows this might be a turning point for me !

I hope you like my newest creation.

A Flow of ACEO

I don't know about other ACEO creators, but ACEO's come in spurts for me! I also paint other sizes of small format art as well as watercolor on canvas and larger paintings. So how do I decide when to paint what size???

Well... sometimes it's just instinct. ACEO ideas just start flowing and I have to go with the flow!!!

Other times, I take my 9x12 watercolor block and divide it up, with pencil lines, into ACEO's with spillover space in between. When I do this... I can't use my 9x12 block until I've painted all my ACEO's - so there's some pressure there!

But I create in other media's too. I have card stock, yuppo, canvas and even ACEO stretched canvas, all waiting for the "mood" to strike!

One thing though... ACEO's are an addiction... so I can't go very long without having to create them. I even have my daughter starting on some with her own style - and I hope to present some of her work to you very soon.

Now that you know that my ACEO's come in spurts... let me show you the results of my most recent flow of paintings!

"Autumn In The Gorge"

"Misty Columbia Gorge"

"Autumn in the Northwest"
(c) M Pruitt 2008 (Prize Award for Etsy Challenge)

"Winter Traveler"
(c) M Pruitt 2008 (click here)

It would be fun to hear how some of our other ACETSY team members create ACEO's. Leave a message or your own post. Do you create in spurts? Do they flow or do you plan ahead? Do you create in other sizes? How do you decide what to do next?

Happy November!

Hi everyone! I've been a team member and a fan of this blog for some time but haven't posted until now. I just finished some new ACEOs and thought it would be a good "excuse" to say hello :)

This ACEO
incorporates repurposed book pages, dressmaker's tissue, fabric, and a vintage photo transparency overlay. Elements are carefully shaped and layered, then freeform stitched with a variety of colored threads and stitches.

I need some help and advice I am going to a craft fair next month and will be selling my aceos. I have sold jewelry at craft fairs but this is the first time I will have tried to sell my art cards. So many people do not know about them that I feel like I have to do some education first.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS MERRY CHRISTMAS

After waking at 4:30 am and not being able to sleep I decided to make good time while all was quiet. So I went as softly as I could to my studio which happens to be right on the other side of my 2 1/2 year old daughters room! He he Sneaky,Sneaky I was tapping gently on my keys to get my supplies and elements out to play. This sweet little piece took me FOUR HOURS! It consist of 34 layers. The little girl is altered in water color. Then I used a picture of a tree that my mother sent me and "carefully" altered it with a softer green by dumping paint on it. After which I used a softening edge on all other layers. Each ornament was carefully placed on the tree as well as the candy cane in the little girls hand!

Green Zen Dragonfly
~
This painting was painted 24 Karat gold paint and then made to look antique. The vines were treated in copper leaf, and the dragonfly treated in 18 karat gold leaf.
~
A six step process was used to create this 3D painting. It is painted on a standard playing card as cards work best with the 3D painting process.
~
Dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness. The color green represents luck! =)
~
Dimensions: 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (Standard ACEO size)

APACHE JICARILLA NAVAHO NATIVE AMERICAN

“APACHE SUNFLOWER”
THE GOOD DIE FIRST AND THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE DRY AS SUMMER DUST BURN TO THE SOCKET

I love Indians! Remember when we used to sit and watch western movies! I was always rooting for the Indians. It most likely is due to the fact that I am part Cherokee. My newest design “Apache Sunflower” is one of my first designs for my new Series Native Americans. I am excited to finally start using my long held and loved images from my dear friend Karen from Luna Girl Images! She has many beautiful images that she has composed into CD’s for sale on E-bay & Etsy. I have also another friend to thank and that is Lori Turner from Luluana Stamp for sharing her sunflower image with me! I feel very happy inside after a feeling as if I would never get the time to do another design my heart is full of joy!

here is how to make an air drying atc card

Here are some samples of air dried clay cards I have been experimenting with lately. This is how they are made.

I made the card itself from DAS an air hardening modelling clay in white. I rolled it out in the correct aceo card shape 3.5" x 2.5" and let it air dry for 2 days. Then I painted the background with a mixture of different Ranger Adirondak paints. The rippled sides were painted with silver paint. The trees and the snow are sprinkled with diamond glitter. Then I glued a hand painted group of three pine trees standing in the snow to the surface and spray the entire card with a high gloss spray and let it dry. The top of each tree has a Swarovski AB crytal. It dried with one side slightly tilted up which adds to its artist flair.

In Case You Were Wondering...

where I live, I'm in the UK . Perhaps this ACEO gives it away? UK? OK! is a fun piece using map stickers and a vintage postage stamp on hand painted corrugated card. But I can be more specific than that. The second image is of 'Evening Star', which shows my Celtic heritage (I'm a Scot, living in England). It has the atmosphere of a late summer evening in the North of Scotland, the colours of the hills and moorland. I miss it.

Find both these ACEOs and lots more besides just here
