A Flow of ACEO

I don't know about other ACEO creators, but ACEO's come in spurts for me! I also paint other sizes of small format art as well as watercolor on canvas and larger paintings. So how do I decide when to paint what size???

Well... sometimes it's just instinct. ACEO ideas just start flowing and I have to go with the flow!!!

Other times, I take my 9x12 watercolor block and divide it up, with pencil lines, into ACEO's with spillover space in between. When I do this... I can't use my 9x12 block until I've painted all my ACEO's - so there's some pressure there!

But I create in other media's too. I have card stock, yuppo, canvas and even ACEO stretched canvas, all waiting for the "mood" to strike!

One thing though... ACEO's are an addiction... so I can't go very long without having to create them. I even have my daughter starting on some with her own style - and I hope to present some of her work to you very soon.

Now that you know that my ACEO's come in spurts... let me show you the results of my most recent flow of paintings!

It would be fun to hear how some of our other ACETSY team members create ACEO's. Leave a message or your own post. Do you create in spurts? Do they flow or do you plan ahead? Do you create in other sizes? How do you decide what to do next?

Happy November!

Hi everyone! I've been a team member and a fan of this blog for some time but haven't posted until now. I just finished some new ACEOs and thought it would be a good "excuse" to say hello :)

This ACEO
incorporates repurposed book pages, dressmaker's tissue, fabric, and a vintage photo transparency overlay. Elements are carefully shaped and layered, then freeform stitched with a variety of colored threads and stitches.
