"Sticks" - Heartful Art ACEO by Raphaella Vaisseau

I like the effect of a stick fence, similar to those we often see here on the beaches of the Gulf Coast of Florida.
This little darling is a little different from my most commonly created ACEOs - original painting of watercolor on paper. "Sticks" is an abstract mixed media piece using scraps I cut up of one of my abstract prints. I then painted the background with silver metallic ink.

I hope you like it! Click here to view all of my ACEOs on Etsy.

New ACEO's from Lorrie @ Divine Design Art Studio

Here are a few of my recent ACEO's. They are 2 layers, one pen and ink, the other is watercolor. The pen and ink is cut out with an x-acto knife and mounted on top of the watercolor. The edges of both are blackened with ink as well.

Halloween Is Coming!

I have been getting into the Halloween mode lately with my ACEO's and it has been great fun!

It all started when I participated in the ACEO Etsy Street Team Swap, subject: Halloween! I started out making 2 of the Pumpkin, one for the swap and one for Etsy.

Then I thought a ghost would be fun...and it was! Cutting out the eyes wasn't the most fun though, especially the little ghost!!

Click here....'Scary Skull' ACEO Original in my Etsy Shop
Then onto a bit of a scary skull, kind of the 'Day of the Dead' type skull. Halloween is always lots of fun to create from and I look forward to the many ideas still 'lurking' to be created.

Fly on Your Wings

Soaring on wings and not growing tired. Here are two ACEO created with this in mind. First, Find your Wings and Fly - is she an angel, a fairy or a woman who has found her stride? You decide.

Next, You Soar on Wings - whether fairy, butterfly, angel or otherwise, I hope they inspire you to reach new heights.

Both available as giclee prints at peaceofpi studio © JoMo 2009.

Green Zen Dragonfly
~
This painting was painted 24 Karat gold paint and then made to look antique. The vines were treated in copper leaf, and the dragonfly treated in 18 karat gold leaf.
~
A six step process was used to create this 3D painting. It is painted on a standard playing card as cards work best with the 3D painting process.
~
Dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness. The color green represents luck! =)
~
Dimensions: 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (Standard ACEO size)

Focus ACEO

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10914622
My newest original mixed-media ACEO “Focus” has a majestic quality. You can almost feel the focus and determination of the beautiful falcon. Highlighted with metallic bronze, it was created using vintage text, acrylics, and paper.
Birds are a bit of a theme for me and this ACEO shows the steely focus of a bird of prey, an altogether different mindset than that of your average songbird.

Noise

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=10754926
My newest ACEO “Noise” shows a sweet orange songbird competing with all the noises of the city. But, she still is singing. Why? Because she can. Liking that. You go, songbird. Created using acrylic paint, vintage text, sheet music and watercolors, it is peeping it's arrival on the etsy site.

Hi ACEO Team!

My name is Jo. I'm a Mixed-Media Artist, new to ACEO's. In 2008 I started making them and I just can't stop :) I currently have 10 for sale in my shop, peaceofpi studio (http://peaceofpi.etsy.com).
This is my latest, Fleur. It's a springy, even *wistful for summer* little piece. It was created using vintage text, watercolors and acrylic paint. I limited the palette for this piece to five colors - three purples and two greens. This was a challenge for multi-colored me, but it did bring a certain cohesion to the finished product!
I'm excited to join the ACEO Street Team and I look forward to much fun and inspiration from all of the talented "YOU" in the group.
Cheers!

AKJapan - MEGALITHS

These cards are the newest items in my shop http://akjapan.etsy.com/

I have used pen and ink with watercolour on heavyweight unbleached washi. I really like megalithic landscapes and I have made many images of these standing stones or sculptures since I visited the Nine Standards in Cumbria UK in 1999.

Have a good week everyone!
regards

Cherished Lady & More....

My cards have been pretty diverse this week. Just painted & created whatever came out.

~ Here are a few~

~Cherished Lady~

~Acrylic paint & sealed with a matte sealer~
I used a toothpick to get tiny even dots for the border and I use the flat end of a bamboo skewer to give me even pupils in eyes and as ringlets in her hair.

I am so happy with this swanky version of Lady Liberty, I may have to keep her!

But why is it the pictures never look as good as in person?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Pink Polka Dot Daisy~

~Mixed Media of collaged papers, paint, mica, rhinestones & wooden finial plug~
The paper flower is from Ohcrop16 and I painted the edges to give it some detail.
I have been using UHU glue to apply my embellishments. It dries super clear and smooth as well as strong. I used it to hold the mica in place, which is great b/c it does not show up at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~Shattered~

~Mixed Media of collaged papers, stamps, paint, ink & broken mercury glass~

These wings I just picked up from Pacokeco. The only thing different about this piece is the mercury glass. I broke one of my ornaments during the holidays and I refuse to let it go to waste!

~Thanx~

Look Ahead For A New Beginning, ACEO

Future...
Look ahead for a new beginning.

Look Ahead For A New Beginning, Back
Medium: Tag, Mixed Media

What comes from the heart goes to the heart.

I have been digging into my collection of found objects and creating another line of small art tags. Each piece is a one of a kind; collectible tag. Suitable as an upcoming Holiday ornament, bookmark, or as a gift all by itself. Going up today in my Etsy shop!

I have been creating embellished ACEOs over the last year and find my collectors like them for their affordability; in comparison to the price of full sized collage pieces. Understanding that buyers are investing in these tiny canvases I will not reduce my prices in order to retain their purchase value. I do, however, combine shipping on multiple pieces. My pieces include tiny pieces of found art objects, glass beads, charms, acid free paints and contain many (many) layers of polymer medium - items not found in most other ACEOs. Each is signed and dated. These are collectible pieces which you will want to display year round.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind so I go all out with shipping; I know you want to receive the item in pristine condition, I mail in a protective envelope, insured - with tracking.

New Member

Hello, I recently opened my Etsy store and quickly discovered ACEO'S. I am a doodler and
have saved them on scraps of paper, napkins, etc for years keeping them in shoe boxes.
Making ACEO'S gives me an outlet for my compulsive doodling and let's me get them out into the world instead of languashing in boxes. Yahoo! I was excited when I ran across the
ACETSY Blog and look forward to being an active member!
