by Artist Rita Squier

ACEO Art Card

Original Watercolor Painting

Size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches

I've created a series of 12 snowflake ACEOs by painting one large snowflake painting and cutting it up into 12 individual ACEOs. Shown here is Snowflakes 5. On my own blog, I blogged about the inspiration for this series: http://ritasquier.blogspot.com. This snowflake and more from the series are available in my Etsy shop: http://squier.etsy.com.

Pretty soon we will be seeing real snowflakes floating from the sky.

The Jewels of Autumn

Autumn Jewels

by Rita Squier

Original Watercolor Painting

ACEO - Art Card

Size: 2.5 x 3.5 inches

The leaves are beginning to turn their gorgeous autumn colors here in Upstate New York. Pretty soon they will be falling from the trees and we will soon be outdoors raking them all up into large piles to play in and then cart away.

This little ACEO and more can be found in my Etsy Shop.

Have a great day!

I love it when...

...an ACEO artist wants to help a good cause!

Here is a fun little creation from WorldOfMoments.  100% of this purchase will go the Dockery Foundation. This is a print of her original painting called "Are You Aware?"

Here is part of her description:  This ribbon is purposefully made to be just a little bit different, just a little bit un-perfect. Because in real life, every case of autism is just as different.

Way to make a difference, Mel!

This makes me want to think about ways I can make a difference, too.  How about you?

Blessings,
Kathy

I came across this beautiful original watercolor painting titled "Color Composition" yesterday and fell in love with it. It is by EtsyACEO member artwatercolor.

I asked Anca to tell me a little bit about how she did it. "I was on a holiday when I painted this watercolor and was relaxing sketching in the garden. There are two weeks each summer when that area is full of dragonflies and it's magical. I know the subject may seem a bit cruel but the real subject is the beauty of nature, in all of its forms. I started sketching the dragonfly with a small brush and then added the spider web background to complete the composition. Then I just played with colors and textures. It took longer to complete then my other watercolor paintings, because of all the hues and details, but I'd say it was worth it."

I really like her style of painting, I really find them unique and interesting. I hope you will take a look at all of her artwork that she has for sale in her Etsy shop.

Sweet September Saturdays by Artist/Designer/Photographer Glenna Normyle

Thank you very much for inviting me to write about ACEO's and ETSY. As we pass from one season to another you can really feel it and certainly see it. This new season Fall 2009 is just starting for us here in New England. Cooler nights herald the beginning of the Fall season for us. I am also very much swayed in my creativity at this point. I have been creating ACEO's with Fall, back to school, owl, bird and Christmas themes. Some ideas for ACEO's come to me and they are so simple in design. This Hoot Owl Aceo I made was simple to make and fun. A few months ago I had ordered a package of various iron on items, beautful embellishments etc...from a fellow Etsian. When I received my order I took one look at this owl and I said to myself, very cute, unique I really would like to preserve it on aceo cardstock to share with someone else. Enjoy! It is available for sale at my shop Glenna's Garden. By visiting www.gnormyle.etsy.com you can see this aceo and others I have created.

I totally and completely fell in love with Plumeria's! They were blooming everywhere. The variety of colors intrigued me and the smell is intoxicating! One of these Plumeria paintings includes native symbols and pen work in the background. The other is a bud just opening in the early morning!

In the Hood!

Here is a sweet custom illustration I just finished for a client. To me, this little guy just looks like Robin Hood. I am going to do another in a fedora, a little Bogart action, he he, so we'll see what kind of actor he can be!

It is such a joy to me to share my love of animals with others and to be able to take an image and make some itty bitty fantasy of it!

I hope you enjoy this piece.

Dog Caricatures!

A lot of people do amazing portraits of kids and dogs!

Since I do a lot of cartoon art, I thought it would be fun to do dog caricatures. I hope you like these, a bulldog, a weimaraner, and a Jack Russell.

If you are interested in a cartoon portrait of your dog, let me know!

Old-Timey Dreamboats

I finally finished up my Old-Timey Dreamboat series! These handsome old-fashioned hunks are all uploaded to Etsy and ready for your perusal and love. :)

Old Timey Dreamboats

I just uploaded a bunch of dapper new gentlemen to my etsy account. I love not only these gents, but my description of them, which I spent some time crafting. If you have any critiques of the men or the description, I'd love them!

"I love old-timey gentlemen, with their facial hair and fancy formal dress. I like how some of them used to wear corsets. I adore side-parts and side-burns.

I have translated this love into a series of original ACEOs celebrating dreamboats of times of yore. Come along with me as we explore these hot gentlemen.

If one strikes your fancy, you can take him home with you, or perhaps carry him in your wallet so you can always see the man that is away fighting bravely for you. He is original, and will never be duplicated, so you know that he is your one true soul mate, and yours alone.

Each of these dapper chaps is 2.5" by 3.5", perfect for trading card sleeves, wallet sleeves, and little frames. The small size means affordability so you can start your art and keepsake collection. Each fellow is encased lovingly in a card sleeve, then placed in a sturdy envelope. He will arrive to you via letter-post. If I could arrange for him to arrive via pony express, I would, but alas, those guys don't come around enough for that to be a reliable mode of transportation.

If you'd like, you may take a gander at the whole collection (pictured second) and let your heart go a-flutter at all of the gentlemen gathered in one spot."

Close Your Eye's And Dream A Dream

There is an old time song called Dream A Dream.
There is a child's program called sprout that Julia watches all the time.
The first time I ever heard her sing this song I was so in love with her voice. She sings it so softly and unlike any other songs she sings. I was inspired to do this design because of her!
