Pictures hung in my memory

My newest ACEO, currently in my shop

Fly

I wish I could fly... Often I dream of flying in a cloudless sky, and in a way, that is what has produced this ACEO, 'Fly'. Imagine what it must be like to float like those birds, soaring on a thermal, seeing the world from a different perspective... Whoever coined the expression, 'free as a bird', knew what they were talking about!

If you want to Fly, it is available for sale here, along with a wide selection of my aceo work.

Oceanside Needle Felted ACEO

The theme for the Needle Felting Street Team (NFEST) in April is Oceana so I created this ACEO wool painting of an Ocean sunset. I also used the upcycled yarn as the ocean water and it created some beautiful effects! It is listed in my Etsy Store.
(the mate and easel are not included.)

BTW - Have you checked out the ACEO Magazine? Click the logo below to see the website. Some of my ACEO art has been featured in the most recent edition. But they also now have an e-newsletter called Cardaddix and my Wool Painting needle felted ACEO process is being featured! I've very excited to see the article. It's only 2.00 to subscribe to the newsletter!

Bird's Nest - Needle Felted ACEO

(C) M Pruitt 2008

This new ACEO is created with wool roving with the technique of needle felting. The needle felting Street Team (NFEST) had a theme of "birds" this month so I created a tree branch, cradling a nest with blue Robins eggs. It's 100% needle felted.

Available in my store The Creators Palette

AKJapan - MEGALITHS

These cards are the newest items in my shop http://akjapan.etsy.com/

I have used pen and ink with watercolour on heavyweight unbleached washi. I really like megalithic landscapes and I have made many images of these standing stones or sculptures since I visited the Nine Standards in Cumbria UK in 1999.

Have a good week everyone!

Green-eyed Cutie and Ginger Kitty by Allison Stein

Ginger Kitty by Allison SteinGreen-Eyed Cutie by Allison Stein
Left, Ginger Kitty, ACEO 2.5" x 3.5", Original Watercolor by Allison Stein

Right, Green-Eyed Cutie, ACEO 2.5" x 3.5", Original Watercolor by Allison Stein

These two ginger kitties have been in my Etsy shop for quite some time, but I don't think they get nearly enough attention. They were both painted using artist-quality watercolors on 140# acid-free watercolor paper.

Five years ago this April, I decided it was time to learn how to draw people and cats, after many years away from art. I finally settled on watercolor as a media, and I truly enjoy it. I hope you'll stop by Etsy and take a look around!

I don't mind waiting...

when I'm wearing leaopard print!
This is one of several new ACEOs I completed her at about 3:00am and now I am SO sleepy.
Waiting has been a recurring theme in my personal work and has spilled into myEtsy work. I love leopard print and so if I must wait, then I'd like to do so in style :-)
Feel free to check this and my others out on my shop gingerlime.etsy.com! I also have some new sneakers for you to see. Maybe I'll post them a little later in the week.

"Blue Birds and Poppies" by Dana Marie

Greetings Everyone!

This is my first post here for ACETSY

"Blue Bird and Poppies"~ ACEO
2.5" X 3.5"(2 1/2 in X 3 1/2in)

Standard Trading Card Size

These are wonderful affordable collectables!

A trading card folder/book filled with ACEOs makes a great coffee table book!Or they can be matted and framed for beautiful miniature art! I personally would like to collect enough to cover a coffee table and then purchase a fitted glass to play on top.

This original collectable bird ACEO/ mini painting is created with professional acrylic on an acid free Strathmore 246 lb weight and sealed with a light coat of clear acrylic protective gloss.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating this piece!

"Blue Bird and Poppies" is SOLD, however, I have more original acrylic aceo paintings in My Esty Shop.

Thank you for your interest!

Spring is Coming

Spring is coming!! Even though it is still snowing outside, I'm so ready for Spring!!
I had to try a flower on metal.... embossed it, painted it with alcohol inks, acrylics and rub-n-buff patina. It was really fun and I'm pretty happy with this ACEO.

Clicking on the picture will take you to the listing so you can see other pictures of the ACEO if you're interested. It's full of texture and really fun to touch.

Back to making ACEOs!

Last week I told myself that I was going to make some ACEOs for the first time in awhile. And that they were going to be mixed media. Started with a bit of paper cutting, then some glue finished with various methods of printmaking.

And here are my results. More coming but with a six month old everything is coming in bits and pieces instead of the rush of new work that would happen like clockwork every two weeks before I had her.

I hope you enjoy them!

Hello!

Hello! I'm a new ACETSY member and this is my first post here.

This is my most recently listed ACEO. It was created for Illustration Friday's Theory theme a few weeks back. The design features vintage ledger paper, scrapbook papers, a photo from my own collection and - my favorite part! - beeswax!

I work mostly in mixed media/collage, but I also enjoy doodling and now Gocco printing! I like to trade ATCs so please let me know if you are interested in a trade.

For 2008, I am making one ATC each day as a way of marking time while my husband (a Marine) is away. I'm not trading those as of yet (I want to see what they look like when I have 365 of them!) but you can see all of them here.

Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing your work.

New cards by AKJapan

Hi folks, please drop by my shop and take a look at my new selection of ACEOs. I like to work with different kinds of paper and use heavyweight koso washi as the base paper. It is unbleached, strong and provides a soft background texture. I've been using some very unusual soot and mud washi too in some of the collages. http://akjapan.etsy.com/

You can also see them on my blog http://dukaduka.blogspot.com/

Girl with Earring ACEO

My most recent ACEO, painted today, titled "Girl with Earring" is an original watercolor painting of a recent earring purchase from the Brass Hussy (a fellow Etsian) that I just loved (enough that I had to paint it!)

You can find this ACEO and others at http://artkitten.etsy.com

So happy to have found you!

I am honored to be invited to post on this blog! Here are two samples of my various styles of ACEOs. I painted the top one this morning! She is done in watercolor and ink, and is called "She Sees You". I have been doing a series of triangulated faces I call "Shards of Remembrance". This one I may also paint in a larger format. The second ACEO is called "Strings" and is part of my music-themed series. It is done in inks. Many more can be seen in my shop www.lerayjessdesigns.etsy.com . I also blog about my process of making ACEOs (and my growing addiction!) on http://aceomarket.blogspot.com. I feature my fellow etsy artists there too - are you featured yet? Come visit and see!

Recent ACEO

I have decided to do a series of artwork on the scrap paper I have leftover after making my journals. This is the first in that series, titled "Bricco's Baby"
